Military Renewal of Drivers License

Military personnel (17B-2-12) — the driver's license of any person in the armed forces is extended for a period of six (6) months from the date the person is separated under honorable circumstances from active duty in the armed forces.

The Division may, upon request, renew the driving privileges of a licensee who is temporarily located out of state at the time their license expires. The Division shall not issue a new driver's license to the licensee. The Division will issue a certified driving record to the licensee indicating that the licensee has renewed his or her driving license with a notation of the new expiration date. The licensee shall obtain a new license upon returning to West Virginia.
