West Virginia Mobile ID
The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is partnering with industry leader IDEMIA to create the West Virginia Mobile ID. You will be able to access your digital driver’s license and ID card on your smartphone.
It is a secure, convenient, and contactless way to verify your identity while protecting your privacy. West Virginia Mobile ID can be used at participating businesses, government agencies, and other organizations.
Get your digital registration card on your mobile device
The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is now offering digital registration cards which can be stored in your smartphone wallet.
You can get a digital registration card when you renew your registration online through the DMV’s Self-Service Portal. This free service offers immediate access to your vehicle information in a digital format. Once you renew your registration online, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a link showing you how to download the digital registration card to your Apple or Google wallet. You will also get a registration card in PDF format.
A paper copy of the registration card and registration decal will also be mailed to you once the transaction is completed.
West Virginia Mobile ID Adoption
Currently the total number of West Virginia Driver's Licenses and ID's holders that have enrolled their mobile ID are 34,352. At this time the TSA and the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles are accepting the mID with additional businesses expected in the near future.
